McLean County State's Attorney:

Erika Reynolds

It is incredibly important to carefully consider who serves as the McLean County State's Attorney. Since 2015, the George Soros-funded "progressive prosecutor" campaign has funded Democrats who believe that our entire criminal justice system is systematically racist and that the only way to fix it is to dismantle it by replacing law-and-order district attorneys with pro-criminal and anti-police district attorneys.

Citizens need to realize that prosecutors, not police, are the gatekeepers of the criminal justice system. District attorneys decide whether to file charges and which charges to file. By replacing traditional prosecutors with attorneys who see defendants as victims. By refusing to prosecute whole categories of crime, District attorneys are, in effect, repealing criminal statutes - acting in the place of the legislature. Such radical rogue prosecutors as Kim Foxx in Chicago have unilaterally raised the bar for prosecuting felony shoplifting from $300 per incident to $1,000 per incident, essentially declaring open season on retail stores. In addition, rogue prosecutors often reduce felonies to misdemeanors and limit the number of charges a prosecutor can bring in a case to one, even though the suspect might have committed multiple offenses.

Crime has exploded in cities that have elected rogue prosecutors. In Chicago, in the six years before Kim Foxx became state's attorney for Cook County in 2017, there was an average of 510 homicides per year. That number rose to 660 in her first year, and through 2022, it averaged 666 per year - with over 75% of the victims being black. It's correct to say that Chicago has become a war zone.

Who we elect for state's attorney will impact the safety of McLean County's citizens. To protect our community from the devastation we see in locales that have elected progressive Democrat prosecutors, be sure to vote for Erika Reynolds.
